The best letterbox gifts for door-dropping surprises.

Updated: Oct 8

The world may be opening back up again but sending gifts to our loved ones has never been easier, and we're pleased to hear that won't change. We love letterbox gifts, they're small and perfect to fit through any door, there's no waiting in for a delivery, having to awkwardly collect from a disgruntled neighbour and it can be an utter door-dropping surprise.

So many of our Wonderfully British small businesses have created unique gifts that can slip in quietly and leave that lasting impression. To get you started, we've picked some of our favourites.

1. Eleanor Jewellery Design

Jewellery (and chocolate) has always been coined as being a girl's very good friend and a sure way to win over someone for a special occasion, or a fabulous just-because present. If you haven't heard of Eleanor Jewellery, where have you been?. Eleanor's collection is everyday jewellery with a luxury aesthetic using recycled sterling silver. Our favourite is the Earth T-bar necklace - an absolute classic with a hammered, textured ‘earthy’ feel to it, invoking strength and light. The perfect stand alone everyday necklace.

2. Ala Kart Creations

Spring is here, the weather is getting warmer and we're spending more time outside again (yes we're aware we've probably all seen enough of our houses and gardens) but what is a more wonderful gift than a gift that keeps on giving?! A La KArt Creations' unique and bespoke wildflower seed bombs are each made from recycled paper are mixed with dried flowers and brimming with UK gorgeous bee and butterfly attracting seeds. For a love or friendship that grows, these are a beautiful gift.

3. Elsie Moss Botanical

For those who are hook, line and sinker on natural soaps for almost everything, Elsie Moss Botanical are great and boast a strong ethos of kindness in everything they do. They have a gorgeous range of solid shampoo and conditioners, body bars and face soaps - all in plastic-free packaging. Her products are cruelty free and vegan, contain no palm oil, parabens or SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate) and are wrapped in paper. A brand committed to being as low waste as possible and awarded a ‘Plastic Free Champion’ award by Surfers Against Sewage.

4. Wick & Willow

For the house-proud home-maker, Wick & Willow make wonderful wax melt bars bursting with fragrance (we know, we've tried them!). Their wonderful scents fill your home even when they're not being melted. The wax and oils are all vegan-friendly and cruelty-free and packaged in environmentally-friendly boxes. We love their Spring-inspired scents - a perfect door-dropping letterbox gift.

5. Boxed Boutique

If you're looking for something that little bit special, Boxed Boutique have a wonderful collection of letterbox gifts packed with beautiful and carefully sourced products from independent British brands. Each one unique and perfect to fit through a loved ones letterbox, so there is no waiting in for a delivery!

6. Rebecca Tracey

We are big believers of self-care, which is why we are in love with the invigorating and energising uplifting trio of aromatherapy blends by Rebecca Tracey. Their pulse point roller balls are made using only 100% pure essential oils to benefit both the mind and the body and can be applied to the wrists, temples, forehead and even the soles of the feet – whenever they’re required! For someone who needs to re-energize, or calm, this is a wonderful gift-set.

7. Bees Balms

Our self-care shout outs continue with our good friends at Beesbalm who thrive on bringing natural skincare together with the magic of aromatherapy. Their winning combination allows you to enjoy a truly holistic experience, maintaining balance and well being, and reminding you daily to love and care for yourself. Whether it's something to treat dry hands or feet, the face or an all over body balance, the range of balms on offer from Beesbalm ensure you'll find a gift suitable for anyone.

8. Month of Sundays

We have journaled more the past year that we have the past decade (yes, we still have diaries!) which is why we were delighted when Month of Sundays, who not only create childhood and travel journals, made gorgeous notebooks designed to help organise ourselves and our thoughts. With an undated calendar for marking those key events and plenty of beautifully blank pages to use as you wish, they really are a class above other notebooks and are the perfect companion for both your personal and professional life. You can even personalise the notebook with gorgeous gold embossing to make it that even more special. 2020/21 has been an adventure and we've got a lot to catch-up on.

Whoever you're looking to spoil, letterbox gifts are one of our favourite ways to surprise someone and help celebrate those birthdays, special milestones and just-because moments. They are super convenient (and usually quicker!) and while we have selected a few favourites, we know of many more small businesses that offer gifts that can slip through someone's door.
